Violet P. Henry: First Woman in Top YMCA Management

Violet P. Henry made history in 1976 by becoming the first woman to hold a top management position at the national office of the YMCA. Prior to this role, she served in executive leadership positions at YMCAs in Newark and Chicago. Henry's leadership extended to national and international commissions and committees advocating for the rights of women and people of color. Her achievements are being celebrated during Women's History Month.
