Mrs. Hawkins: Dedicated 5th-grade teacher at Laurel Nokomis School
by Valencia Perez / sarasotalocal.org
Mrs. Hawkins is a 5th-grade teacher at Laurel Nokomis School in Sarasota County. She is originally from a suburb outside of Chicago and pursued her education at Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Hawkins knew she wanted to be a teacher since she was 10 years old. She loves math because of its universal language and enjoys sharing its wonders with her students. Outside of teaching, Mrs. Hawkins is a busy mom, driving her children to dance and football activities. #TeacherTuesdaySCS
