The Penn Yan Public Library, in collaboration with WTTW and local PBS stations, presented PBS Books host Heather-Marie Montilla in conversation with author Sandra Cisneros to commemorate the release of the 40th Anniversary Edition of "The House on Mango Street." The novel features Esperanza Cordero's journey of self-discovery growing up in Chicago. This year, Sandra Cisneros is the Library of Congress 2024 National Book Festival author, highlighted by PBS Books. The upcoming 24th annual Library of Congress National Book Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., running from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The festival is a free event open to the public.
